Heft designed the flag as a high school project in 1958 and the flag was officially embraced in July 1960. The first American flag was designed by Francis Hopkinson in 1777, while the current American flag was designed by 17-year old Robert G. The province of Carolina (North and South Carolina), Colony and Dominion of Virginia, Maryland, and the province of Georgia made up the Southern Colonies. The Province of New Jersey, Delaware Colony, Province of New York, proprietary colony, and the province of Pennsylvania made up the Middle Colonies. The colony of Rhode Island, Connecticut, Province of Massachusetts Bay, and Province of New Hampshire made up the New England Colonies. The thirteen colonies were grouped into three, the Middle Colonies, New England colonies, and Southern Colonies. The fifty stars with five-points represent the fifty states comprising the USA. The thirteen stripes symbolize the thirteen British colonies that gained independence from Great Britain in 1776 and were the founding states of the US. The thirteen horizontal stripes of red alternating with white, with the red stripe being at the top and bottom. The "sword and torch" designs is probably one of my favorite flag designs out of any others.The Flag of America comprises of thirteen stripes of equal size running horizontally across the banner and a blue rectangle on the canton consisting of fifty white stars. Shortly after the Second American Civil War begins, the AUS gets an event to choose their flag.
Of course, if you do this there is an attempted assassination of Huey Long by a faction of the AFP representing the Ku Klux Klan.
It is an odd country, because despite being based in the deep south of the 30s it can rapidly become more progressive and tolerant than the former US by abolishing poll taxes and allowing African-Americans to equally serve in the military. It follows the ideals of Huey Long's "share our wealth" program. The AFP creates a new America, called the American Union State. The CSA has the most support in the industrial states of the North, while the AFP has more support in the deep south.Įarly in the game a civil war breaks out in the US, with the AFP and CSA rising in their respective regions, the Pacific States seceding, Canada seizing all sorts of territory like Alaska and New England, and Hawaii breaking off. In the game, America has four main political parties: The usual Republicans and Democrats, and two new parties: Combined Syndicalists of America, and the America First Party led by Huey Long. Flags are from the alternate history Hearts of Iron/Darkest Hour mod Kaiserreich, where Germany won World War One.
